Composer Umiliani, Piero
Arranger Schwalgin, Stefan
Difficulty level 3
Duration 3:40
Additional info/contents Everyone knows Mah Na, Mah Na, written by the Italian film music composer Piero Umiliani! In the Muppet Show and Sesame Street, Jim Henson provided the catchy melody with a fitting humorous setting: a shaggy hippie doll sang the funny song, improvising wildly, accompanied by two shy choir members. Stefan Schwalgin took up this idea to offer capable bass trombon who sometimes feel under-challenged by their orchestra's repertoire a forum for solo development. A few small musical surprises give this original encounter between deep saxophone and wind orchestra a special charm.
