Additional info/contents	The composition was rightly called Suite because of its characteristic dance parts. En Bateau, for example, probably named after a poem by Verlaine describing a boat trip by moonlight, is set to music in a swaying barcarole. This is followed by a casual elevator (cortège) in march rhythm, also named after a poem by Verlaine. The tempo of this part is moderato, the burlesque middle part is played in "tempo scherzando". The third part is a minuet in a serene, classical style. The work ends with a solemn ballet in allegro giusto. This lively two-four time alternates with a relaxed waltz in three-eighth time.
