Additional info/contents	One of the world's most recognised tunes 'Waltzing Matilda' with lyrics by A.B. 'Banjo' Paterson and music by Marie Cowan, is the universal song associated with Australia. This piece is most effective when particular attention is paid to contrasts of style, tempo and dynamics. The introduction should be played broadly for the first five bars, after which a descrendo develops up to the letter A. Precise balance is important throughout the piece and the percussion must maintain a steady tempo. The andante section at C should be legato, which contrasts with the rest of the piece. At letter E, the important flute and percussion parts must be played energetically and with precise articulation. The conclusion is kept in the style of the introduction and builds up to a dramatic ending.
