The name of the band stands for "Steinbäcker, Timischl, Schiffkowitz", the surnames of the three founding members. STS's music is a mixture of pop, rock and folk, and their lyrics often deal with topics such as love, friendship and life in Austria. The band has received numerous awards over the course of their career and have also become internationally successful. They have performed in several countries in Europe, as well as in Canada and the USA.
