Additional info/contents
In this piece, the performance success lies in always putting the vocal part in the foreground as opposed to the accompaniment. Therefore, changes in dynamics should be viewed critically. Although the arrangement calls for a 'quiet' background, the conductor could omit some players if the ensemble is too large. In measures 35-51, the band has a chance to sing along. An alteration at the coda occurs and can be freely ended by the conductor. This arrangement can also be performed by instrumental soloists. For your own choice, an alto saxophone part in E-flat is also included. If the guest vocalist sings the beautiful verses of this song and a qualified pianist is available, this piece can also be performed as such alone. The band can then 'sneak in' on the last note of the verse.
