Additional info/contents	Davison has been called the "City Of Flags" because it is home to one of the world's leading manufacturers of banners all kinds. Appropriately, the work was written during the year the Olympics came to Atlanta, where the pride of many nations was displayed and represented in each country's flag. The music is rhapsodic in form. After a quiet and meditative introduction, the energy and drama build quickly to a representation of the main theme. A middle section provides contrast with a time of reflection represented by solo oboe, trumpet, euphonium, flute, clarinet, and tuba. With a return to the opening theme, the music builds to a heroic, exciting conclusion.
