Additional info/contents	Rolf Rudin composed Lied ohne Worte in 1997 as an encore to a concert he conducted himself on the occasion of the Eifel Music Days. He himself describes this piece as a "melodic" etude or "sound study for espressivo playing". It is supposed to be a small piece in "romantic sound garb". The fact that this piece points far beyond "study" music is due above all to Rudin's ability to give even small works a compositional development and condensation that has an unusual tension.
