This book (in German) not only offers basic, comprehensive training for all wind and percussion instruments of the wind orchestra and their interaction, but also promises a lot of fun learning and making music together. In addition to music theory, which is taught sensibly and in small steps, there are also interesting excursions into music theory, music history and culture. Each pupil's booklet comes with an introduction and play-along CD recorded by professional musicians. This work is not only ideal for learning an instrument in class. It can be used excellently in the preliminary and beginner orchestras of wind bands. What has been learnt in individual or group lessons is repeated with the ‘Essential Elements’ series and at the same time there are plenty of orchestral arrangements available so that ensemble playing can be practised at an early stage.
