Brief description	What is played at MID EUROPE in Schladming is a guideline for brass music in Central Europe, because music from our cultural region, together with new impulses from Europe and from other continents, forms the basis for our own position. Now they are available, our recordings from the conference in July 2000 with a good four and a half hours of captivating symphonic brass music: - These are orchestras from eight countries and this is music with the excellent International Youth Wind Orchestra of MID EUROPE. - They are orchestras whose diversity bears eloquent witness to the demands of the brass music movement, for excerpts from concerts by university and conservatory brass orchestras, by dedicated amateur brass orchestras with the best dispositions, can be heard. But there is also the professional civilian wind orchestra to be found, trend-setting selection orchestras and last but not least the Stadtkapelle, which plays at a high level. - These are, of course, two world premieres and three European premieres of remarkable compositions for wind orchestra. Together with the recordings from the WASBE conference in 1997 and the coloured recordings from MID EUROPE in 1998 and 1999, this is a collection of symphonic wind music that is undisputedly unique in this compilation. Consequently, these anthologies are already regarded today as reference productions of symphonic wind music par excellence on an international level.
