Additional info/contents
Alan Fernie's arrangement of "Killing Me Softly" for junior wind band is a successful example of adapting an emotional classic into a playable format for young musicians. By considering the instrumentation, structure and emotional expression, the core of the original is preserved. The challenge for the young musicians is to express these emotions on stage, which is supported by Fernie's skillful arrangements. Thus, the arrangement not only makes a musical contribution, but also promotes an understanding and appreciation of profound music in the earliest stages of musical learning.
