Additional info/contents	The symphony, commissioned by the Kaiserslautern Symphony Wind Orchestra in 2020, addresses the history of energy production and use in four movements. It premiered in 2021. The first movement deals with bioenergy and its role in human development, but also its negative consequences such as deforestation. The second movement is devoted to fossil energy, especially coal and oil, and their contribution to progress as well as its problems such as climate change and wars. The third movement describes the history of nuclear energy, from its beginnings to the disasters in Chernobyl and Fukushima. The fourth movement focuses on renewable energies such as wind, solar and water, which are considered key to a sustainable future. At the end, the symphony asks the question about the future of humanity and energy development: a utopian future with clean energy or a dystopian one with environmental destruction?
