Additional info/contents "In Memoriam: For the Fallen" is a musical setting for narrator and orchestra of the world-famous poem "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon (1869-1943), which was first published in The Times in September 1914. Binyon was horrified by the outbreak of war and the many casualties caused by the British Expeditionary Force in the first months of the battle on the Western Front. The famous fourth verse (They shall not grow old...) is regularly recited on Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day. In Memoriam: For the Fallen is particularly suitable for celebratory occasions.
