Additional info/contents	Prelude to a Pageant wurde 2014 von der Woodley Concert Band aus Anlass seines 40-jährigen Bestehens in Auftrag gegeben. Das Stück enthält eine berühmte musikalische Verbindung zu Reading rota (Sumer is icumen in), einem Manuskript, das ungefähr aus dem Jahr 1240 stammt und in der Nähe von der Abtei von Reading entdeckt wurde. Dieses lebendige Lied erscheint zu Beginn des Werkes nach einer rhythmischen Einleitung sowie einem langsameren Teil und bildet auch den Höhepunkt.
