Composer De Haan, Jacob
Difficulty level 3
Duration 19:04
Additional info/contents This Latin mass for choir and wind orchestra was composed in honour of the commemoration day of heiligen Cäcilia, the patron saint of musicians. For this reason, numerous ensembles dedicate concerts to St. Cecilia every year, which served as the inspiration for this piece. It is a festive, optimistic, but also calming work, which stylistically fits perfectly with the commemoration day of St. Cecilia.

After the Missa Brevis, the Missa Katharina and The Gospel Mass, the Missa Santa Cecilia is the fourth mass by the Dutch composer Jacob de Haan to be published.
(Sound sample: Kyrie; Sanctus)
