Additional info/contents	Widmer wrote the composition 'O homem armado' in 1968 as Op. 51 and, as he himself records on the handwritten score, won first prize with it at the National Wind Orchestra Composition Competition of the Music Education Council of Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the same year, he completed a second version Op. 51a for a symphony orchestra wind ensemble, which was premiered in Salvador in 1968. 'O homem armado' lasts about nine minutes and consists of theme, ten variations and finale on the anonymous French chanson 'L'homme armé'.
