Composer Frost, Robert
Additional info/contents This comprehensive technique and musicianship book provides an abundance of enjoyable repertoire and musical, results-driven exercises (including scales, etudes, chorales, classical repertoire, and more) that will help your students develop solid, accurate technique.

Section I focuses on finger dexterity, the development and control of tone, and tuning. Finger Runners improve left hand dexterity and velocity while Rhythm Runners improve right hand bowing technique. The introduction of chord building, combined with multiple option scoring, allows the tone and tuning exercises to be played in unison, or in two or more parts.

Section II helps develop a solid understanding of seven major and six minor keys, presented through scales, arpeggios, etudes, chorales, and songs. This variation of styles encourages the development of solid technique and musicianship.

Section III includes 14 etudes from standard literature that help develop the bowing techniques of spiccato, sautille, martele, staccato, and loure/portato.

Piano accompaniments are included with the chorales, selected songs, and orchestral excerpts. Arranged for pianists and modest skills, their use adds to the musicality of student performance.

Establishing a strong foundation with good left and right hand technique will result in outstanding musical performances and will help open your students' world to a vast wealth and incredible literature.

Perfect for intermediate level students in class or private studio settings.
