Additional info/contents	This commissioned work for the voestalpine wind orchestra was written in 2008 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of its existence. Inevitably in connection with Voest one thinks of steel and iron. As I did not want programmatic music, and yet I always had a connection to steel in my mind when composing, I used FE, the chemical name for iron, as a harmonic and melodic design element, as these letters produce the intervals major seventh and minor second in music.
