Additional info/contents	This piece begins with a festive fanfare with a brass accent. Suddenly a funky passage develops, which begins cautiously but gradually develops into a James Brown-style groove. An optional solo drum is notated here for the real freaks. This is followed by a slow blues that gives the piece a sense of calm. At the end, fanfare and funk combine to form a striking unit. This piece is highly recommended for your concert repertoire, but also makes a somewhat unconventional change for a competition.
