Additional info/contents	Thomas Doss's composition "The Colors of Tali" for top-level wind orchestra is based on a poem by the Israeli girl Tali, which describes the inability to capture the experiences of war in colors. Instead, she paints with the colors of hope and nature. Doss translates this childlike perspective musically by using contrasting timbres: dark sounds symbolize violence, while light passages express peace and innocence. The free-tonal structure follows the verses of the poem, with rhythmic and dynamic contrasts underscoring the emotional tension between war and hope. (he)
