Additional info/contents Extreme Make-over consists of a series of metamorphoses of a theme from Tchaikovsky's well-known Andante cantabile (from String Quartet No. 1, Op. 11). Here the theme is first presented in its original form, followed by several metamorphoses: one modern, one in neoclassical style, spiced with classical quotations. A marimba solo, accompanied by differently tuned bottles (!), determines the third metamorphosis, before all instrument groups lead to the festive conclusion.
