Additional info/contents	The title Windfonietta results from the composition of the two words "Windmusik" and "Sinfonietta", i.e. a small symphonic form. Fritz Neuböck composed this work on the occasion of the 10th birthday of his orchestra, the Bezirksjugendorchester Gmunden. The two corner movements are based on one and the same F-minor motif, which appears in the first movement, the Elegy, in the form of a chaconne, and in the third movement, the Finale, in the form of a gigue, and later leads into a fiery gallop. The middle movement, the Serenade, is in the parallel key of A flat major and was written in the thought of Derek Bourgeois' wonderful piece "Serenade for Wind Band". The Windfonietta is not programme music, it is simply thoughts that have crossed the composer's mind as he reflects on the last 10 years since the founding of his orchestra. 1. Elegie 2.
