Additional info/contents Entstanden ist Eberlins programmatische Vertonung des Offertoriums „Terra tremuit“ für die festliche Liturgie des Ostersonntags am Salzburger Dom, der im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert ein Zentrum der Pfleger von mehrstimmigen Offertoriumsvertonungen war. Die Verse 9 und 10 aus Psalm 76 (75) mit der bildhaften Schilderung des Erbebens und Verstummens der Erde sind Eberlins Textvorlage für das Offertorium. Die Schilderung des Erdbebens drückt Eberlin in den Streicherstimmen durch ein ausnotiertes Tremolo und in den Vokalstimmen mit dem Silbenstaccato beim Wort 'tremuit' aus. Die Auferstehung wird durch die aufsteigende Tonfolge bei den Worten 'dum resurgeret' in Musik gesetzt. Ein Alleluja beschließt das Werk.
