Additional info/contents	Hommage JFK, im Sommer 1995 ent-standen, ist eine Fanfare für 4 Trompeten, 4 Hörner, 4 Posaunen, 2 Tubas und Schlagwerk (3). Das National Symphony Orchestra hatte dieses Werk zur 25. Jahrfeier der Eröffnung des Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington beauftragt. Ich habe mich von dem Mann, dem dieses Gebäude gewidmet ist, inspirieren lassen. Da ich 9 war als John F. Kennedy President wurde, war er die erste politische Persönlichkeit die mich mit ihrem Humor, ihrem Lächeln, ihrer Lebenskraft und dem unerwarteten Tod beeindruckt hat. Hommage JFK stellt 2 Elemente dar: Lebenskraft und plötzlicher Verlust. David Sampson Written during the summer of 1995, Hommage JFK is a fanfare for four trumpets, four horns, four trombones, two tubas and three percussion. It was commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the opening of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. In the writing of the fanfare, I chose to concentrate on the man for whom the building was dedicated, John F. Kennedy. Since I was only nine when he was elected president, Kennedy became the first political leader to make an impression on me. What I remember most was his humor, smile and vitality, and the fact that these were taken away from US so suddenly. Hommage JFK reflects these two elements: vitality and sudden loss. Pour composer cette fanfare j'ai choisi de m'inspirer de l'homme à qui ce bâtiment est dédié. Comme j'avais 9 ans lorsque John F. Kennedy a été élu président, il fut le premier homme politique à me marquer par son humour, son sourire, son vitalité et sa mort soudaine.
