Additional info/contents	Six Miniatures wurde 2006 komponiert und uraufgeführt vom Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble im Usdan Center for the Performing Arts in Long Island, NY. Die sechs kurzen Sätze sind ungezwungene Porträts einiger Aspekte der menschlichen Existenz: Frustration, Befürchtung, Begeisterung, Inquisition, Angst und Verletzlichkeit. Die Titel sprechen ziemlich für sich, ausgenommen vielleicht Frog Tango, geschrieben an einem Abend, an welchem ich viel zu viel Zeit aufbrachte, um herauszufinden wieviel Ausführende dieses (sehr) laute Ensemble von Ochsenfröschen in meinem Garten wohl bildeten! Graham Ashton Six Miniatures was composed in May 2006 and premiered by the Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble the following July, at the Usdan Center for the Performing Arts on Long Island, NY. The six short movements are flippant portrayals of a few aspects of the human condition: frustration, apprehension, elation, inquisition, fear and vulnerability. The titles are fairly self-explanatory, except perhaps for Frog Tango, which was written after an evening when I spent far too long trying to figure out how many performers were in the (very) noisy ensemble of bullfrogs in our back garden! Graham Ashton Les 6 Miniatures furent composées et crées en 2006 par le Graham Ashton Brass Ensemble à l'Usdan Center for the Performing Arts à Long Island, NY. Les 6 mouvements courts sont des portrait désinvoltes de quelques aspects de la condition humaine: frustration, appréhension, exaltation, inquisition, crainte et vulnérabilité. Les titres sont assez révélateurs sauf peut-être pour Frog Tango, qui fut écrit après une soirée durant laquelle j'ai passé beaucoup trop de temps à essayer de compter combien d'interprètes faisaient partie du (très) bruyant ensemble de grenouilles taureau dans mon jardin!
