Additional info/contents	1966 wurden die New Yorker Klarinettisten Jack Kreiselman und Daniel H. Leeson für ein Konzert engagiert, in welchem sie die zwei Konzertstücke von Mendelssohn im Brooklyn Museum spielen sollten (mit Direktübertragung am WNYC Rundfunk). Daniel Leeson bat Richard Lane (sie dienten1950 zusammen in der US Army Band)dem Trio ein zusätzliches Werk zur Ergänzung dieses Programmes zu schreiben... Daniel Leeson erinnert sich: Lane sagte zu und nach der ersten Probe waren wir alle vom Werk begeistert. Später war er auch einverstanden dass ein Fagott als Alternative zum Bassethorn eingesetzt werden darf, um die Aufführungsmöglichkeiten zu erweitern. Es freut mich ganz besonders, dass dieses charmante Werk dank dieser sehr gepflegten Ausgabe endlich zugänglich ist. Anmerkung des Herausgebers: Eine alternative Bassklarinetten-Stimme als Bassetthorn-Ersatz liegt hier ebenfalls bei. In 1966, the New York clarinetists Jack Kreiselman and Daniel N. Leeson were invited to perform the two Mendelssohn concert pieces for clarinet, basset horn, and piano at the Brooklyn Museum (which was broadcast over radio station, WNYC). Needing another work of identical instrumentation to fill out the program, Daniel Leeson asked Lane (with whom he served in US Army Bands during the 1950s) if he might write something for them. Daniel Leeson remembers: He agreed, and from the moment we rehearsed the work it was love at first sight. Later, Lane told me that he agreed to allow use of a bassoon in place of the basset horn, which broadened opportunities for additional performances. Over the years we would see each other at local concerts and eventually he became a piano teacher for both my son and daughter. I am so very pleased to see this fine work published in such a splendid edition. Publisher's note: an additional bass clarinet part as substitute to the basset horn has also been included. Leeson furent invités à jouer les deux pièces de concert que Mendelssohn composa pour clarinet, cor de basset et piano au Brooklyn Museum (concert diffusé par la station de radion WNYC). Comme il fallait compléter le programme, Daniel Leeson demanda à Richard Lane (avec lequel il avait servi dans les US Army bands dans les années 1950) s'il serait d'accord de leur écrire quelque chose... Daniel Leeson se souvient: Lane accepta et dès la première répétition l'oeuvre nous a enthousiamés. Plus tard, Richard Lane accepta qu'une voix de basson offre une alternative au cor de basset afin d'élargir les possibilités d'exécutions. Je suis très heureux que cette ravissante oeuvre soit enfin accessible grâce à cette édition soignée.
