Obwohl das Werk - Bestellung des Madison Symphony Orchestra zu seiner 75. Musik-Saison - dieses Jubiläum und die glänzende Zukunft des Orchesters zelebriert, habe ich einen lateinischen Titel gewählt, um auch die Vergangenheit zu ehren. Die Solotrompete eröffnet das Werk mit einer feierlichen 'Fanfare' . Dieses Thema, zum Ereignis passend, wird von den Hörnern und schliesslich vom ganzen Orchester als Zelebrationsfanfare übernommen. So ergibt sich ein neues jubilierendes Musikmaterial... John Stevens The title, which translates as 'to shout for joy', reflects the generally celebratory mood of this short 'mini-overture'. Although the piece - commissioned by the Madison Symphony Orchestra for its 75th anniversary season - celebrates the anniversary milestone and bright future of the orchestra, I chose to title it in Latin as a small way to honor the past as well. The work opens with a solemn 'fanfare' by the solo trumpet. This theme, based on a tune appropriate to the occasion, is then taken up by the horns and the rest of the orchestra in a fanfare of celebration. This gives way to jubilant new musical material... John Stevens Le titre (= manifestation d'une joie intense) exprime l'humeur festive qui anime cette mini-ouverture. Bien que la pièce - commande du Madison Symphony Orchestra pour sa 75e saison musicale - célèbre cette date anniversaire et le brillant avenir de l'orchestre, j'ai choisi le titre en latin, afin que le passé soit lui aussi honoré. L'oeuvre s'ouvre sur une 'fanfare' solennelle par la trompette solo.
