Additional info/contents	Die Sonata Breve (1999) für Trompete allein, ist eine minuziöse Bearbeitung der 1981 komponierten Sonata Breve für Tuba allein. Die vorliegende Trompetenversion wurde 2002 von Carl Lindquist am New Music Festival von Sandusky (USA) uraufgeführt. Die 3 Sätze, in traditioneller schnell-langsam-schnell Form, sind folgend betitelt: 1. With assurance (Selbstsicher) 2. Introspectively (Introspektiv) 3. With energy (Energisch) Der erste Satz, in Sonatenform, beginnt mit einem entschiedenen Thema, dem ein zweites, lyrisches folgt. Der zweite Satz, ein nachdenkliches, dreiteiliges Siciliano,wird zunehmends mit Verzierungen geschmückt und der letzte Satz ist ein energischer Tanz. Die Sonata Breve ist meinem Sohn Ryan in Zuneigung gewidmet. Jack Gallagher Sonata Breve for trumpet unaccompanied (1999). It is a thorough reworking of the earlier Sonata Breve for unaccompanied tuba, composed in 1981. The version for trumpet was first performed by Carl Lindquist at the 2002 New Music Festival of Sandusky. The three movements follow the traditional fast-slow-fast format and bear the following indications: 1. With assurance 2. Introspectively 3. With energy The first movement, in sonata form, begins with an assertive opening theme followed by a more lyrical second theme. Movement two, a pensive siciliano in three-part song form, becomes increasingly ornamented. The last movement is a spirited dance with occasional asymmetrical meters. With energy (avec énergie) Le premier mouvement, en forme de sonate s'ouvre sur un thème décidé et enchaîne avec un autre plus lyrique. Le deuxième mouvement, une Sicilienne pensive en trois parties, s'ornemente au fur et à mesure. Le dernier mouvement est une danse fougueuse. Sonata Breve est dédiée avec affection à mon fils Ryan.
