Die Musik illustriert eine Pastoralidylle: ein einsamer Mensch, an einem Teich sitzend. Obwohl für Oboe d'amore geschrieben, kann Reflections auch auf einer Oboe gespielt werden. Reflections was composed in 1992. It was commissioned by Marc Fink, Professor of Oboe at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He premiered this three-movement work at the 1992 International Double Reed Society conference in Frankfurt, Germany. The music is intended to loosely depict the pastoral scene of a solitary person sitting by an isolated pond. Although written for the oboe d'amore, Reflections may also be played on the oboe. Reflections fut composé en 1992. Marc Fink, professeur de hautbois à l'Université de Wisconsin-Madison en est le commanditaire. Il a créé cette oeuvre conçue en trois mouvements lors de la conférence de la Société Internationale des hanches doubles à Francfort en Allemagne. La musique illustre librement la scène pastorale d'une personne solitaire, assise au bord d'un étang isolé. Bien qu'écrit pour hautbois d'amour, Reflections peut aussi être joué sur un hautbois.
