Additional info/contents	In der Tradition der protestantischen Missa-brevis-Komposition steht die Vertonung der vorliegenden Messe, die im sogenannten 'stile antico' gehalten ist, der sich an Kompositionsmodellen des 16. Jahrhunderts orientiert und als Palestrina-Stil bekannt ist. Die Abschrift, auch sie liegt in der Düben-Sammlung, entstand im Jahr 1675. Die strenge Form des 'stile antico', kontrapunktische Polyphonie ohne Begleitinstrumente, hat Buxtehude für verschiedene Kompositionen gewählt, die in dieser Zeit entstanden sind, etwa Mit Fried und Freud ich fahr dahin BuxWV 76, die Trauermusik zum Tod seines Vaters. Die Missa brevis umfasst Kyrie sowie Gloria des Ordinariums und ist damit eine 'Lutherische Messe', da im protestantischen Gottesdienst des 17. Jahrhunderts diese Messe-Teile lateinisch vorgetragen wurden.
