Additional info/contents
Grade: 4
The Felix Mendelssohn collection “Songs Without Words” is a set of many short piano character pieces. Although firmly entrenched in the Romantic idiom, some of these delightful pieces foreshadow the Impressionistic style. The grade 4 pieces in this collection have been expertly adapted for woodwind quintet by Harry Stanton, and include: Morning Song (Op. 62, No. 4), Venetian Boat-Song (Op. 19, No. 6), Venetian Boat-Song, No. 2 (Op. 30, No. 6), Venetian Boat-Song, No. 3 (Op. 62, No. 5), The Shepherd’s Complaint (Op. 67, No. 5), and The Joyous Peasant (Op. 102, No. 5).
MORNING SONG (OP. 62, NO. 4); VENETIAN BOAT-SONG (OP. 19, NO. 6); VENETIAN BOAT-SONG NO. 2 (OP. 30,NO. 6); VENETIAN BOAT-SONG NO. 3 (OP. 62, NO. 5);THE SHEPHERD'S COMPLAINT (OP. 67, NO. 5); THE JOYOUS PEASANT (OP. 102, NO. 5)
