Additional info/contents	Sousa's mark of genius can be seen even in his lesser known marches, as is the case with Anchor and Star. It was written for a parade use with his 350 piece Navy 'Jacky' band in the bond drives of World War I. Following a drum cadence halfway through the march with hear a splendid example of martial counterpoint. Added individually to a rollicking rhythm by the tubas are a bugle call, a countermelody by the trombones and euphoniums, and an obbligato by the woodwinds. (no score)
