Composer La Guerre, Elisabeth-Claude Jaquet de
Arranger Bates, Carol Henry
Difficulty level 3
Additional info/contents Erstveröffentlichung

In den letzten 10 Jahren komponierte R. Schonthal die Divertimenti für junge Virtuo-sInnen. Sie wurden von der Hoff-Barthelson School of Music in Auftrag gegeben. Sehr gutes Unterrichtsmaterial. Mittelschwer.

La Guerre‘s sonatas belong to the first examples of this genre in France. La Guerre composed 6 Violin Sonatas, which were published in 1707. The first two Sonatas which are presented in this volume show typical features of La Guerre’s style: a sequence of numerous contrasting movements (the longer one of the two sonatas has got 7 movements) and a cello part which gains an own quality and is not just a colouring the sound of left-hand keyboard.
